Ingredients
  

Fruit Filling
  • 2 SnapDragon apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 Ambrosia apple, peeled and sliced
  • 1 Honeycrisp apple, peeled and sliced
  • 2 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
Crisp Topping
  • ¾ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 6 tbsp butter, cold and cut into small cubes

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter or spray a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix the filling: In a large bowl, toss apples and pears with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and brown sugar until evenly coated. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Make the topping: In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in the butter using a fork or your fingers until crumbly.
  4. Assemble: Sprinkle the topping evenly over the fruit mixture.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  6. Cool slightly before serving. Delicious warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
