  • ¼ tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
Prepare the Brownie Layer
  1. In a medium bowl, mix applesauce and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and whisk well.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, almond flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Set aside.
Prepare the Cookie Layer
  1. In another bowl, mix applesauce and sugar until combined.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix thoroughly.
  3. Gradually add oat flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in dark chocolate chips.
Assemble the Brookies
  1. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough on top and gently press to cover the brownie layer as much as possible.
  3. Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs.
  4. Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing
