- Whisk the eggs: In a small bowl, beat the eggs with milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Heat the pan: Heat butter or oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until melted and slightly bubbly.
- Cook the eggs: Pour the egg mixture into the pan. Let it cook undisturbed for about 1–2 minutes until the edges start to set.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over one half of the omelet.
- Fold and finish: Once the bottom is set and the top is mostly cooked (but still a little soft), carefully fold the omelet in half over the cheese.
- Serve: Cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, then slide onto a plate. Enjoy warm.
