Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (1 stick)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  4. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Don’t overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool before cutting into squares.
