- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- pinch salt
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 2 scoops protein powder (optional)
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. If adding protein powder, mix it in with the dry ingredients.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Combine: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
Fold in Chocolate Chips: Stir in the chocolate chips
Cook the Pancakes: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray. Scoop about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve: Stack the pancakes and top with extra chocolate chips, maple syrup, or fresh fruit.
Tips for Protein Powder Addition:
- If the batter becomes too thick after adding protein powder, add a splash of milk to thin it out to your desired consistency.
- Choose a protein powder flavor that complements chocolate (like vanilla or chocolate).
