- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until fully combined (don’t overmix).
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool before cutting into squares.
