Ingredients

  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • 3 tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • sprinkle ground black pepper
  • sprinkle sea salt
  • sprinkle parmesan grated cheese

Method

  1. Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut into even strips about 1/2–3/4 inch thick for fries.
  2. Soak the Sweet Potatoes (Optional for Crispier Fries): Place the cut sweet potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let soak for 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Season the Fries: In a large bowl, toss the dried sweet potato strips with avocado oil. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, parmesan cheese, sea salt and black pepper. Toss well to coat evenly.
  5. Cook the Fries: Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring none overlap. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  6. Serve: Transfer the hot sweet potato steak fries to a serving plate. Serve immediately with your favorite dip on the side.

  • Arrange the fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
  • Cook for 15–20 minutes at 375°F, shaking the basket halfway through, until crispy and golden.
