Method
- Preheat oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, protein powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Mash bananas: In a separate bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Combine wet ingredients: Add mashed bananas, milk, egg, vanilla extract, and honey/maple syrup (if using) to the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined.
- Add chocolate chips (optional): Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top if desired.
- Bake: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
- Bake and cool: Bake for 20 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely before slicing into bars.
